Ophelia Forever!!!

I'm back from my little excursion down to Baltimore for the performances of Ophelia Forever.  Here are some pictures from the production:

Here's me singing while Jimmi (Hamlet) prepares to drop-kick me.

Erin as the Mad Mermaid, aka psychiatric patient.

Me with Elspeth the Faithful Seductress, aka the doll.

The three Ophelias in the final pose.

The three Ophelias (Me, Erin, Elspeth) with the composer of the opera, Amy Beth Kirsten, second from left.

Me and composer Amy Beth Kirsten after the last performance.

Time to apply to the Bang on a Can Festival and the Norfolk Festival, and time to find some more singing jobs!  I don't like to waste a single minute.  Oh, and yeah, there are auditions for Jerry Springer, the Opera taking place in Washington D.C.   Very tempting, but also maybe a little far away.  We'll see.   The Metropolitan Opera is also holding auditions to be in their opera chorus in just a few weeks.  I'm still debating over whether or not to go.  If I go and have a crappy audition, they may never hear me again.   So I have to either go in solid or not go in at all.  The weird thing is that its being done "cattle call" style, which is just totally strange to me.  I don't know.  Anyone else going?  Advice?

I tried to get down to the museum on Friday night, but stupid JHU lectures got in the way, boo. It looks like a good success, and I *love* your dress!

Oh man, thanks even for thinking about coming. It was a good show, and I think most people liked it, even though some were a little baffled, haha. And thanks on the dress. Believe it or not, it was an old bridesmaid dress that I kept waiting to find a use for. Finally found one, haha!

OMG, You are a Goddess! m'dear...

Oh, and re: MET Opera Chorus.
Many years ago my mom did it, and she loved every minute of it!
She had a riot with the other Chorus-ters and the cast!
The stories are legendary, particularly the ones with the cast of Aida...
Do it, if you can! You'll love the experience...

haha thanks.

Your mom sang with the Met Opera chorus? No way!

Yep! Many years ago.
My Dad still tells the story of his first real "date" with her. He came up to my Grandparents house and rang the bell, my mom answered the door and the cat took advantage of the opportunity of the screen door being open and escaped out and ran down the walk.

MY mom suddenly yelled out "STOP RIGHT THERE!" 'cause he wasn't allowed outside and the poor cat just froze right there in a catatonic state!
My dad said he had never heard anything so loud come out of a human being ever in his life! (My mom could really project...)

My mom just walked down and picked the cat up, still frozen in a running position and carried it back into the house, stiff as a board. He said it took about 10 minutes to bring the cat out of it!

I learned very early in life not to get my mom too upset...

Intense! You look like a great actress. I feel the emotion! And the candid shots of you are gorgeous. XOXO!

Thanks! Yeah, it was an intense piece, a totally cool work. The photographer was pretty good, too!

Oh cool, a marionette Ophelia? I know nothing of the play at all though :/
