My Master's degree recital at Peabody  was last night.  Check out this blurry picture of Michael (at the piano) and I in front of the majestic organ in Griswold Hall (yeah, its the only pic I have from the actual performance, taken by accident by my mom, haha):

I think it went pretty well. I got a lot of great feedback, especially from my teacher.  Although a lot of my friends from NYC/NJ couldn't make it down to Baltimore on a weeknight, I had a good crowd of lots of people I love, and some elderhostelers.  I definitely  had fun.  Phyllis was really proud of me, and we've already started planning the next recital (which will be in NYC in the fall...so, all of my NY/NJ friends...stay tuned for the date/time/place/etc) at which I will probably do the same Crumb again, possibly learn some more Crumb, and maybe do some more "tonal" stuff like Dominik Argento's Diaries of Virginia Wolf.   I'm excited.  I'm really going to miss Peabody.  I mean, not enough to want to stay here for another degree, because I want to move back to NYC and get going with my career already.  But I've made some great friends here, had some AMAZING teachers, and had a lot of really positive experiences.  I've grown immensely as a musician.  Two years ago I didn't feel anywhere near as close to being ready for a career as I do now.

So that's a huge weight off my shoulders.  Next up is Sophie's Choice on April 3rd.

Oh, and a plug for my cousin Kim, jewelry designer extraordinaire, who is having a trunk show this weekend at Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue in NYC.  She'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday selling her handmade works of fashion art.  712 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY.  I'm going to try to stop by on Saturday.   My family is talented. I'm proud :)  And now, I have to get back to work, and rehearsal.  Lots of love!
