Water? Please?
Oct. 1st, 2004 06:30 pmI just came home to shower and get ready for work, only to find that there is NO RUNNING WATER in my house! Not a drop. I turn the faucets and nothing comes out at all. And no one else is home. Now what?
I forgot to include a humorous converstation from yesterday between me and the guy at the post office, as I tried to mail a letter to Maria in Berlin.
Me: I need an international stamp for this letter.
Post Office Guy: Oh, were's it going?
Me: Germany.
POG: Oh, but it doesn't say Germany on it anywhere...
Me: Yes it does, see? *points to the bottom line of the address which reads Deutschland*
POG: Ohhhh that must be the NEW name. I'm not up on all the new names of these countires.
Me: *thinking to myself* Oh lord...
Me: So how long will it take this letter to get to Germany?
POG: Well, it depends on how the mailman feels over there. He having a good day, you're letter get there next week. He not so happy, maybe a month.
Me: *thinking to self once again* wow. okay...
Tomorrow is Opera Workshop at Juilliard, for which I have to learn two quartets tonight really fast. Then I'm going to sit in on the voice lesson of Catinthehat who graciously offered me the opportunity to check out her lesson. :) Then Mark and I will probably explore the city and have fun.
I called Edith Bers. No response yet. I also printed out the application for the RAM in London. That is one hell of a confusing application. I'm writing a rough draft and I'm going to type the final draft, old school style, with my mom's old type-writer. I love old type-writers. They're so much fun!
